Dr. Bernd Wachmann Siemens Corporate Research, Princeton, NJ, USA Bernd Wachmann has received the M.Sc. degree in Technical Physics from the University of Technology, Graz, Austria in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in Computational Physics in 1999 from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. In the same year he joined Siemens AG Austria and developed security technology projects related to biometrics and camera based tracking and monitoring. In 2002 and 2003 he developed the bioinformatics team in Vienna, Austria and Dublin, Ireland, that worked on RNA secondary structure prediction, proteomics, systems biology and atomic force microscopy. Since 2004 he is working for Siemens Corporate Research in Princeton, NJ, where he is responsible for the bioinformatics team working in pre-clinical research, molecular imaging, biomarker and drug discovery.
